Some goals.

I’ve been thinking lately about my goals. Most of them are really long term, and almost all of them are dependent upon money I don’t currently have. But hey, goals are GOALS for a reason. You shoot for them, and shouldn’t necessarily be disappointed if you don’t actually reach them. The point is to try. Anyway, I’m rambling. Here’s a list:

  • Go back to school. I want to go back to school and get at least my bachelor’s in history. I also would love to do a few courses at a culinary school. Mostly for baking. Because I love to bake. lol. But if I had to choose one thing to study, it’s definitely history. I LOVE reading about different time periods, and I think learning about history is really interesting.
  • Travel. England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Russia, Japan, China, Australia, New Zealand, Egypt, EVERYWHERE. I want to go everywhere. I want to meet online friends in other countries. I want to backpack my way across Europe. I want to live away from the hustle and bustle. I want to learn languages I’ve never heard before. (And I want to do it with Branden.)
  • Speaking of Branden. I want to get him comfortable with the idea of travel. He’s very much a homebody. He doesn’t like going to places he’s never been. I think that he thinks he’d die without his guitar and video games. He most definitely needs to come out of his shell and needs to learn to meet people. He’s a loner, really, and it pains me to see that he really only has the friends he went to highschool with. Which is fine and all, but he’s kind of unwilling to meet new people.

Those are just a few of my goals. There are several others, but those are the ones that are sticking in my mind right now.

Computer is dead.

Yeah. My barely a year old computer is dead. My graphics card is effed to hell, so I have to have it replaced. Which I cannot afford right now. Especially since it COULD cost up to $800. It’d be more prudent to just buy a new computer.

So I went and picked up my old computer from my parents. What a trip. The old school 17 inch monitor looks SO BLURRY compared to my laptop, and even Rob’s laptop. (Which I’m on now.) But, the spot on the back where you plug in the ethernet cable is broken. I dunno what’s wrong with it, but it doesn’t even register that the cable is plugged in. I need to figure out how much it’s going to be to fix, because I took it out, blew it out with some air, plugged it back in, and it’s still not working.

So I might not be around a whole lot in the coming weeks. We’re a three person household with only one working computer. The good thing is we have pretty opposite schedules, so we’re never fighting over it. lol. If anyone wants to donate to the “Caitlin needs a computer” fund, my paypal is xxoverrated[at]gmail[dot]com. (joooookes.) My tax return is going towards bills, and I really can’t afford to get it fixed. But hopefully, starting in March I’ll have a new job. My friend is going to help me get a job at the hospital she works at as either a receptionist or a lab assistant. YAY! Money, opportunity for advancement, money, security, benefits, MONEY!

Wish me luck. :D
