Things I would buy if I won the lottery

Branden and I had an intense discussion on “if” we won the lottery… what would we do with all the money? This was on the way home and it was purely an attempt to keep us both from falling asleep. So, I’m going to post the list here, just for shits and giggles.

  • Put half the money in high-yield savings accounts.
  • Build a large house in a wooded area within 30 miles of Chicago (Indiana/Illinois, not Michigan)
  • Have secret passage ways in that house, leading to different rooms. I decided I wanted one of those Scooby Doo-esque studies with book shelves and when you pull the right book, a door opens and leads you down the stairs to a secret room. This would be my “woman cave.”
  • Build a recording studio for Branden, and a photography studio for me.
  • Buy cameras: Nikon D2x, and Nikon D90, just to name two. Would also buy several lenses and studio equipment.
  • Buy tons of books. Ones I love, ones I’ve not yet read. Store them in a room with shelves to the ceilings and high windows, just like the one in Beauty and the Beast.
  • Have a custom designed kitchen that has all the features I want. Double ovens, 8 burner cook top, huge fridge, etc.
  • Buy a few nice cars. Some for every day, and a few collectors items.
  • Buy great computers. Mac’s, for sure.
  • Build my makeup collection.
  • Branden would buy wrestling belts. Lots of them.

That’s totally not even all of it. We went IN DEPTH. lol. We really need to start buying powerball tickets. We have expensive tastes.

I'm drawing a blank.

Honestly. I don’t ever blog anymore. I’ve been watching Desperate Housewives non stop the past few days to try and catch up. I’m working my way through season 5 now, and I’m in love with this show. It’s really addicting. I’m just like “I gotta know what happens!” I don’t know what I’m going to do when I get all caught up and have to wait a whole week to watch the newest episode on tv. lol. I guess I can record a whole bunch on DVR and then watch them in one big chunk like I do now, eh?

Branden and I are going to get the paint for the living room, kitchen, and bedroom on Thursday when he gets paid. I’m so excited. We still need to finalize our colors, because I’m torn between light colors and medium colors. We’re staying in the blue/green family for the bedroom and living room, and our kitchen is definitely going to be Behr’s “California Poppy” but we have to pick actual colors for everything else. I’m just really ready to have a place that seems like OURS, and I want to decorate it. I hung pictures up in our apartment, but it doesn’t really feel like home to me. We’re definitely going to be in the new place for at least a few years, mostly because I refuse to move 4 years in a row. Just not going to do it. lol. (We’ll have moved 4 times in the past 3 years.) I’m glad we’re going to be settling down and getting comfortable in this place. And I really can’t imagine leaving a place with a gas stove. Not unless we build our own place. Haha.

I’m going to go finish watching American Idol and then find me something to eat, because I’m kinda hungry. I hope soon I’ll have something interesting to blog about.

Me

I'm Catie! I'm 21, married to Branden, and furmama to Barlow and Sylas. I'm an amateur photographer, a fiber artist, a knitter, a crocheter, and a seamstress. I think I'm funnier than I really am. I'm a stay at home wife, and I spend my days being creative and making stuff to sell on my Etsy.
