Lots of people value and follow what their doctors say without any question and most of the time that can be dangerous. I have seen doctors try and schedule epidurals to be convenient for them or women do the same and I think it's awful. Birth is something beautiful and natural, not something that you can put in your calendar for a set date and time. Yeah, it bothers me too. This is why, if/when I have a child, I'm specifying that UNLESS there are complications, it will be a natural birth without drugs and I will NOT be lying down (it's a completely unnatural position to have a baby in, laying down with your legs in the air). It's all about time nowadays. Women are only talked into these things because doctors have a schedule to stick to and can’t be bothered waiting around for a baby to pop out.
This is why, if/when I have a child, I’m specifying that UNLESS there are complications, it will be a natural birth without drugs and I will NOT be lying down (it’s a completely unnatural position to have a baby in, laying down with your legs in the air).
