OCTOBER? Really?
Posted by Catie on October 2nd, 2011 . Filed under: Life .Hi guys! So this is the part where I tell you I’m sorry for not blogging enough, even though I have been blogging, just not here. It’s been over here. So, I’m sorry I’ve not been blogging about my personal life, but the reality of things is that- I’m just not that interesting! Ok, maybe I am, I don’t know. But lately all that’s been running through my head is “time to try for a baby- for real!” and “holy crap, wii fit is amazing!” or “what do I cook for dinner tonight?”
So, in my last post, I told you guys how I was going back to school. Well, that’s not actually gonna happen. I had a meeting with financial aid, and it turns out that private universities are FUCKING EXPENSIVE. *insert string of other expletives here* Like, really fucking expensive. I was approved for a $9500 unsubsidized stafford loan. I did not get approved for a pell grant. I also did not get approved for ANY private loan, even with a cosigner. So my total out of pocket expense for one academic year at this school? OVER TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS.
Yes. I nearly had a heart attack too!
And the sad thing is, that didn’t include my books. *head desk* So, school is on hold indefinitely. But it’s really ok. I can still work the way I’ve been working, and it will all be fine. And, the best part is… we can finally really start trying for that baby! I wanted that more than school anyhow!
We’re hoping for a 2012 baby, but hey, if it takes longer than that I’ll be ok. For now we’re going the natural route, and if we need to we’ll speak to a doctor about conception assistance. SO. That’s my life right now. Oh, I forgot to mention… IT’S FREAKING OCTOBER! Branden and I have been married for almost 2 years already! Holy cow! Time flies, right? :D

Sorry about school not working out, have you thought about going to a community college to get a decent GPA so you can apply for scholarships and transfer to a university? Hope babies come soon for you!

Wishing you lots of luck on your road to conception! I’ve been following you on Twitter and can see all the baby-related posts lol.
School is so. freaking. expensive. It’s a good idea to wait if you’re having trouble getting the financing straightened out. I know a lot of people get caught in the cycle of trying to pay back loans (and I’m hoping to avoid that one myself! A bachelor’s degree, outside of my hometown, and living expenses nearly crushed me).

The benefit of the uni I was going to attend was the lack of basic classes. You took one english, one math, and then the rest of the classes had to do with your degree. I have a hard time taking classes where I already know the material.
We’re just gonna focus on having babies instead of going to school. lol
