I keep telling my brothers and sisters-in-law to enjoy their teenage years, when there's very little in the way of responsibility. It beats dealing with issues like this! We had a similar issue a few years ago when we purchased our car -- a misunderstanding/miscommunication that resulted in the state trying to say we didn't have car insurance, and of course our car lender started freaking out. But worst of all, they wanted to pin everything on US. I am so sorry that you're dealing with this, and that this dickwad agent is trying to lie to make it out as though you're not communicating with him. Ughhhh.
